Hackers

I continue to see a lot of Hacking going on lately. As in a lot. Here are some tips to avoid the hacking.

- Turn on Two Factor Authentication
- Use Authenticators.
- Change your passwords frequently
- Use long passwords and phrases as your passwords

Soon most passwords will change to a system called Passkey. Google has been using passkey for about a year now. This will be a large change in the password world and will be a huge step in preventing hacking. Industries will adopt this very soon.

If you have any questions let me know.

Have a great day

You're Invited to the CSI Protection Certification Livestreaming Class

Who loves watching CSI?  Who wants the CSI designation?  Everyday we hear about data breeches, and we know it is one of the top concerns in a real estate transaction when you have and are trusted with the data on someone's largest asset.  Tomorrow join the Cyber Social Identity and Personal Protection Security Training course offered just for RE/MAX Agents.  The more you learn the more you earn.

Join us for the CSI Protection Certification Livestreaming Class

The National Association of Realtors Member Safety Report indicates that 4% of realtors were victims of a crime while working as a real estate professional. That's over 60k victims in our industry! Due to its characteristics, the real estate industry is an easy target for hackers, scammers, and "bad guys" in general.

We are committed to protecting agents and their clients from physical and cyber threats.

Take the Protect Now CSI Protection: Cyber Social Identity and Personal Protection Security Training that teaches you how to protect yourself, your clients, and your transactions from personal assault, cyber-attacks, and real estate wire fraud.

Completion of this training earns you a lifetime CSI designation that shows your clients you are cyber aware and security conscious to differentiate you from other real-estate agents in the market.

Sign up for this event hosted exclusively for real estate professionals at REMAX by our security awareness expert and head of training, Robert Siciliano.

When: Friday September 29th

Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm MST

A 4th of July to remember

A fun, maybe a bit hokey, but inspirational and imaginary story about July 4th.......

Several years ago, in a small town in the heart of the nation, the Fourth of July was a day of great anticipation and celebration. The townsfolk eagerly awaited the arrival of this special day, as it brought them together in a spirit of unity and patriotism. This year, however, the town faced a challenge that threatened to dampen their festive spirit.

The town's beloved community center, a place where families gathered and memories were made, was in dire need of repair. The roof leaked, the walls were crumbling, and the once vibrant colors had faded away. The townspeople were disheartened, for they knew that without a proper venue, their Fourth of July celebration would be incomplete.

But amidst the gloom, a glimmer of hope emerged. The local Remax office, known for their commitment to the community, stepped forward with a generous offer. They pledged to restore the community center, ensuring that the Fourth of July celebration would be held in a place befitting the town's pride and spirit.

The Remax team, dressed in their signature red, white, and blue attire, rolled up their sleeves and got to work. They rallied the community, inspiring them to join in the restoration efforts. Together, they painted the walls a vibrant shade of red, symbolizing the passion and resilience of the townspeople. The ceiling was adorned with a fresh coat of white paint, representing the purity of their intentions and the unity that bound them together. And finally, the doors and windows were painted a brilliant shade of blue, reminiscent of the clear summer skies and the freedom they cherished.

As the restoration neared completion, the townspeople couldn't help but feel a renewed sense of pride and inspiration. The community center, once a dilapidated building, now stood as a testament to their collective spirit and determination.

On the Fourth of July, the town gathered at the newly restored community center, their hearts filled with gratitude for Remax's generosity and the hard work of their fellow citizens. The building shone brightly, its red, white, and blue colors radiating a sense of hope and possibility.

The celebration began with a heartfelt speech from the Remax team, who spoke of the importance of community and the power of coming together. They reminded everyone that the colors of red, white, and blue were not just symbols, but a reminder of the values that made their nation great.

The day was filled with laughter, music, and joyous festivities. Children ran around with faces painted in red, white, and blue, their laughter echoing through the air. Families gathered for picnics, sharing stories and creating new memories. And as the sun set, the sky lit up with a spectacular fireworks display, painting the night with bursts of red, white, and blue.

The townspeople looked around, their hearts swelling with pride. They realized that the restoration of the community center was not just about a building, but about the spirit of their town. It was a reminder that when faced with challenges, they could come together, overcome obstacles, and create something beautiful.

From that day forward, the Fourth of July in the town became a symbol of resilience, unity, and the power of community. The colors of red, white, and blue were forever etched in their hearts, reminding them of the inspirational journey they had embarked upon.

And so, as the years passed, the town continued to celebrate the Fourth of July with renewed vigor and gratitude. The restored community center stood as a beacon of hope, reminding them that with determination and a shared vision, they could overcome any obstacle and create a brighter future for generations to come.

Today, each of you still represent that beacon of hope.

I'd like to wish everyone that is part of our Remax team, family, and friends a fun, safe and memorable Fourth of July!

Cheers!

Elizabeth

Buyers and sellers have changed what they want in a home, and how they use their home, how they search for a new home, and the relationship to the agent. The housing market has roared in a pandemic induced boom, but now the changing economic environment has returned to some normalization. Buyers are facing higher mortgage rates coupled with rising prices and have struggled to find the perfect home. Alas, some have found creative ways to enter the market. Demographics have shifted. Who is today's home buyer and what do they want from their real estate agent or broker?

CBOR is excited to bring Dr Jessica Lautz to Columbia with this economic update from NAR.

Dr. Lautz is Deputy Chief Economist and Vice President of Research at the National Association of REALTORS. The core of her research focuses on analyzing trends for both NAR members and housing consumers.

Space is limited so register today- see flyer below for date and time.
